If you want prosperity in America, DO THE MATH.

Today, a staggering 40% of people in America report they can’t come up with $400 in an emergency. The same number – 40% – make less than $30,000 a year (around $15 an hour) for full-time work.

The U.S. House has passed legislation to raise the federal minimum wage gradually to $15 an hour to ensure a modest, stable living for working people by 2025.

But the U.S. Senate’s Republican Leadership refuses to bring the Raise the Wage Act up for a vote, leaving tens of millions of working people without the raise they both deserve and desperately need.

Every second they refuse to act, working people in America LOSE MONEY they should have earned. This is a stunning betrayal of our nation’s work ethic.

This is how long the federal minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25 an hour (that’s a paltry $15,080 a year for full-time work).

This is how long the Senate’s Republican leadership has refused to vote on the Raise the Wage Act.

Hard working people in America are suffering, as are the local economies and businesses that depend on paying customers with money to spend.
